In November2024 #fionamarks Fi Marks started a commission painting of my three daughters. I have loved Fiona's artwork for a fair time and was always pondering having a piece done to keep in the family as a sort of heirloom. One of the thins I like about Fionas unique style is the texture achieved the wonderful colour palette and her ability to create a story within her artwork.
It was as Belper Art Trail in 2024 that I made the move to ask Fiona to do something for me. I needed time to think about what I wanted Fi to create and how I wanted her to portray myself and my offspring. I communicated with Fi via email and whats app in the first instance after protracting information directly from my girls to ask them how they would like to be portrayed, prior to meeting up to go through everything.
The whole experience as been a memorable one and I loved the end result and so did the girls. Every time I take a look I see a little more detail there. The artwork is there forever, I did copies for the girls for Christmas, and they may have said it was their favourite gift
