More slow stitch - my evening pastime - I have been stitching these pieces into one of my stitchbooks which is so fulfilling. I have used easy to do stitches so that I can stitch and keep up with the drama on tv. I have used lazy daisy, kantha (running stitches) french knots, herringone, cross stitch and backstitch. Using up lots of bits of fabrics, vintage and new. The poppies was an embroidery piece that I did many years ago, I found it in one of my sewing boxes - so added Kantha stitches to take away the plainess and added it to my stitchbook. I have a selection of ready made stitchbooks for sale in Cromford Mills, all hand stitched with various fabrics - lined and most have silk ties.
I also kanatha stitched the wool pocket inside my stitchbook with sashiko thread. A nice little pocket for stitching bits, cottons, cloth and needles etc. It is very rewarding personalising your stitchbook as you go along. I have been adding some stitchpieces to the back and inside page as well. I havent taken a photo of the stitchbook as yet - I will do it when I have the light, its getting a bit late to do it today and look forward to sharing with you.
The Cromford Mill Shop has now closed. My stitchbooks are available on my website . JulieLeggettArt.com
