Pleiades Project
This month has been a task of chasing my tail and working through stitching projects and tasks. Getting there slowly, I have just sent in my project piece for an Exhibition in Scarborough - the project was a joy to do ( I will post some images once it is on exhibiton (May 3rd - 29th June) in Scarborough. The project is called 'The Pleiades'.
Hares or Bunnies - you decide
Bunnies or hares are always popular especially around spring and Easter time - there will be a little collection of new hares that yoiu may want to take home with you when you see them. They will be available #Peakvillage from 27th March, #Belperarttrail #Derbyshireopenarts through to end of May.
What am I working on...
I have two stitching projects ongoing 'Looking out of the window' and 'Mrs Whistler' I am not sure when they will be ready, but very soon time permitting to complete them.

Collage and painting
Collage and painting has taken a little bit of a back seat for now, I will be visiting this at the end of April, aiming to produce at least two pieces for the upcoming art trails and Derbyshire Open Arts.
I will be speaking for #TextileExplorers Textile Explorers on the 16th April at Marthall Village Hall in Sandlebridge Lane, Cheshire. WA16 SB. I will be looking at colouring fabric, spontaneous stitching, stitch books with hand and freestyle embroidery. Doors will open at 6.45pm for a 7.30 pm start and a 9pm finish. I am really looking forward to meeting and sharing with like minded stitchers and creators, we should be able to collaborate for a great evening. There will be some makes for purchase.
Workshops
Three new workshops will be available from May - these can be booked through my website https://www.julieleggettart.com/events I will be holding these in Bonsall @Nethergreen House, numbers are limited to not more than four people to allow for maximum tuition and support on your day. The cost of the workshop will include all materilals and you will go home with a beautilful item.
Here are the stitch items that you will be working on in the workshop.
Stitching denim - up cycle your clothes or make patches to decorate them using varioius tecniques
Rag Textile - make a lined purse in bright textles...
Stitch together beautiful fabrics to produce this beautiful purse
Traditional sashiko drawstring lined bag with ties...
Take a look and come along. If the dates dont fit or if you would like to come along with a couple of friends I will do specific dates, calender allowing - send me a message and lets see if we can arrange something.
